University Grants Commission (UGC), National Educational Testing (NET) has been announced for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)/Lectureship June, 2012. UGC NET 2012 notification is released by www.ugcnetonline.in/short_notification.php to invite online application for UGC NET June 2012 of JRF/Lectureship to be held on 24th June, 2012.
UGC NET 2012 Important Dates:
UGC NET June 2012 Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from UGC recognized University with at least 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PH/VH) in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc.
Appeared or appearing candidates in final year examination can also apply for UGC NET 2012.
Holders of Ph. D. degree completed by 19th September, 1991 shall be eligible to apply for appearing in UGC NET June 2012 getting 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.
Age Limit:
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): age must not be more than 28 years as on 1st June, 2012. There is relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PH/VH candidates.
Lectureship: there is no upper age limit applying for lectureship through UGC NET 2012.

UGC NET June 2012 Examination Fee:

Candidates have to fill Bank Challan Form: http://ugcnetonline.in/bank_challan.pdf in triplicate and submit in any branch of State Bank of India along with Rs. 20 bank charges. Candidates have to receive two copy of Challan Form from the Bank.
UGC NET June 2012 Application Form:
Candidates have to register at: www.ugcnetonline.in to view UGC NET Online Application Form 2012. There are four steps in UGC NET Online Form 2012.
Candidates have to log on at www.ugcnetonline.in by using email ID and password. They have to fill the basic information as per the requirement. On the successful submission, candidates have to take print out of UGC NET Online Application 2012 and attach with receipt copy of Challan Form to send to the Registrar of UGC-NET Centre opted by the candidate.
Candidates can take a print out of “Admission Card” also downloading that for UGC NET June 2012 examination.
UGC NET 2012 New Exam Pattern:
It has been proposed that UGC NET examination will have objective types of questions from June 2012 onwards.
Session – Paper – Number of Questions – Total Marks
Candidates have to secure minimum 40% marks (35% for OBC (Non-Creamy), PH/VH/SC/ST) in Paper-1, 40% marks (35% for OBC (Non-Creamy), PH/VH/SC/ST) in Paper-2 and 50% marks (45% for OBC (Non-Creamy), 40% for PH/VH/SC/ST) in Paper-3 to get qualified in UGC NET 2012 for JRF/Lectureship. There will be no negative marking in UGC NET June 2012 written examination.
